Exercise Science
Department of Kinesiology
The exercise science specialization prepares you for careers including fitness trainer, exercise technologist, and strength and conditioning coach. This program is also good preparation for graduate studies in exercise science (including exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, and measurement/evaluation).
Within this specialization, you will learn to:
- Apply the principles of exercise physiology to prescribe safe and effective strength and conditioning programs
- Apply the principles of biomechanics to assess the quantity and quality of human motion
- Apply the principles of sport psychology to enhance human performance
- Apply the principles of measurement and evaluation to collect, analyze, and interpret data

Internship
Part of the exercise science specialization is an internship. This rewarding experience lets students work hands-on in the field, building experience and credentials.
